Classy Grunge Style

Classy Grunge Style

In 1989 the Grunge style was the strongest trend at that time, adopted by teenagers and bands’ fanatics. According to the designer Jean Payload Gaultier grunge is “the way we dress when we have no money”. But when some brands started wearing plaid shirts, beanies, and baggy jeans, everybody followed this fashion.
Back in the days, Marc Jacobs reinvented the silk Plaid shirt which increased the popularity of this print for years, where I remember seeing people wearing plaids until the end of the 90s (I was 10 years old).
Today the Grunge style is back as strong as before, where more young girls are wearing the tattoo necklaces, plaid shirts, Dr. Martins everyday. Personally, I don’t think I will ever wear the tattoo accessories since they do not match my style. However, I am a big fan of plaids which can be easily styled in our winter outfits.
I would wear the plaid shirt with a pair of black jeans, big army print jacket and chunky boots; along with gold accessories which will give a feminine addition to the look.

The beanie, plaid shirt, and necklace are all from ASOS.
