My Weekly Mani Rituals

I’m obsessed with having long well manicured nails and that’s why I visit my usual nails spa once every week. I ask Arline, my nail artist, to trim the excess skin once or twice a month and the rest of my visits are all about maintaining my nails and applying new color.  I’ve been following this process religiously for a year now and since then my nails became longer and stronger.

Those are the steps followed by my Ohh-so-lovely Arline:

First, take your time to choose the color that  you want to apply, taking into consideration the season you are in. I chose Downtown Brown Essie which is perfect for autumn.

Next, Arline always files my nails well, in order to make sure that there are no minor cuts on the edges. This strengthens my nails and insures that they will not break during the following week. Then she smooths my nails with the buffer to remove the residues.

Make sure to wash your nails and apply the color base.

Now, for applying the nail polish, you should use the three-strikes technique: First start applying the color in the middle of the nail, and with the tip of your brush spread the polish all over the nail in two separate strikes.

First color the middle of the nail then the edges.

Finally, apply the top coat which will give your nails an extra shine. Arline removes the  excess color with the tip of her nail in order to make sure that everything is perfectly polished.

Now, enjoy your gorgeous nails!
